JUNE 2010 CHARTS

Full Moon Phase (28th May - 4th June, 2010)

On the 4th house cusp we find the sign Libra which is (dry, cool and airy breezes) but is is found in late degrees (27*) so most of the LP period will be influenced by the next sign Scorpio (acute, extreme, dry/wet, hot/cold) and Mars, the ruler of the 4th cusp, is in Leo (dry. hot, calm). There are no planets found in the 4th cusp (drier).

Looking at the 1st house cusp, we can see the sign Cancer (cooling/cold, wet, chance showers to downpours, breezes) and the ruler of the 1st cusp is the Moon. The Moon is in Sagittarius (dry, warm, pleasant, thaw). There are no planets in the 1st house (drier)

Of planets in angles, Mercury is dry.

Looking at the planet aspects we can find Venus, which is a moisture planet in cold & wet Cancer semi-square Mars. This aspect donates precipitation (drizzle to cold rain) followed by much colder temperatures. Venus is 2* from the Ascendant which means the weather is 120 miles to the west of your location. (60 miles per degree).
We find Mercury in the 10th house which means high pressure areas, northing, will move from west to east, Uranus (high pressure) in the 9th house locates high pressure to the SW of Australia (northing)

3rd Quarter Moon (June 5th-12th, 2010)

Libra is found on the 4th house cusp (cool, moderate temperatures, airy breezes, dry/pleasant). Venus the ruler of the the 4th cusp, is in the sign Cancer (cooling/cold, wet, chance showers to downpours, breezes). There are no planets in the 4th cusp (drier) but Venus, ruler of the 4th cusp is Square the Midheaven (precipiation)

Cancer is found on the 1st house cusp (cooling/cold, wet, chance showers to downpours, breezes) and the Moon, ruler of the 1st cusp, is in the sign Pisces (cool, wet, mild, seasonable).

The aspects to take note is Saturn (Low Pressure) to the SW of your location is Opposite Jupiter/Uranus conjunction.

The Moon ruler of the 1st will pass over Jupiter and Uranus on late on the 6th. The atmosphere coming from the North-West will become greatly affected with below normal temperatures. This negative conjunction (in Aries Stellium) interprets intense cold fronts, higher then average precipitation in northern regions, high velocity winds.

Of planets in angles Venus is moist.

New Moon Phase (12th - 19th June, 2010)

On the 4th house cusp we find the sign Taurus which is a cool, wet, moderating influence (steady farmer's rain) and since the previous LP charts had cooler weather, this LP week should see a return to more average and moderating (warmer) temperatures, although with Aquarius (cold) on the 1st cusp, temperatures will remain average to a degree below.

Venus, ruler of the 4th cusp, is in Cancer. Cancer means a cooling/cold, wet, chance showers to downpours, breezes. Looking at the chart, it is already looking pretty moist, with the possibility of some precipitation. What does the rest of the chart tell us?

On the 1st house cusp, we find Aquarius (cold, dry & crisp, electric) and Saturn the ruler of the 1st cusp, is in the sign of Virgo (cold, dry, on the cool side with winds, blustery). If we look at Saturn ruler of the 4th it is in Sextile to Venus (cooler but fair weather, broken clouds moderate the sunshine, high pressure, low temps gradually follow, during cold seasons the coldness more intense in the interior, frosts, cold waves freezes)

Of planets in angles, Mercury and Mars are Dry and Neptune is Moist.

The other aspects to look at are Mercury in the 10th house but in separating Square to Mars in the 7th. This can be regarded as a fair weather event rather than a negative one. Mercury in cold Gemini and Mars in hot Leo. This can be said to be fairer, more mild rather than warm and windy. Neptune in the 1st is Opposite Mars in the 7th but in separating aspect also. This tells me that during colder seasons fogs and sudden thaws.

1st Quarter Moon Phase (19th - 26th June, 2010)

On the 4th house cusp we find Aquarius (dry, cold, electric) and the ruler is the planet Saturn which is in the sign of Virgo (dry, cold, on the cool side with winds, blustery). Saturn is not in any angles and the aspects do not have any effect on the location this phase. Neptune late in the 4th cusp (to the east) is in applying Trine to the Sun (fair days with a light haze or fog).

On the 1st cusp, we find the sign Scorpio (acute, extreme, dry/wet, hot/cold).This (acuteness) will add to the chart and aspects) before moving into the sign Sagittarius (warm, dry, pleasant). Mars, the ruler of the 1st cusp, is in Leo (hot, dry, calm).

Of planets in angles, Neptune is moist.

Looking at the aspects, you will notice that Venus is conjunct the Midheaven and moving into the 10th house. Venus is a moderating and moist planet, but Venus is in dry, hot Leo. With the Moon passing over Saturn ruler of the 4th on the day of the 19th any cloud and dampness to the air will quickly improve.

Full Moon Phase (26th June - 4th July, 2010)

On the 4th house cusp we find the sign Gemini (tends to cold or cooler, dry/fair, breezy to windy, clouds moving across open sky, variety of temperatures) and Mercury, the ruler of the 4th cusp, is in Cancer (cooling/cold, wet, chance showers to downpours, breezes). So far the chart is showing us a mixture of dry and also moist qualities. Let's look at the rest of the chart.

On the 1st house cusp we find Pisces, which is a (cool, wet, mild, seasonable, moderating influence). Jupiter, the ruler of the 1st cusp, is in Aries (warm to hot, dry, a moveable sign and can bring in some wind).

Of planets in angles, Mercury and Mars are dry.

Looking at the aspects in the chart, you can see Neptune in the 12th approaching to Conjunct the Ascendant (cool, precipitation, fogs/mist, tropical influence, freakish weather events). The Sun and Mercury late in the 1st is Opposite the Moon/Pluto conjunction and this aspect will affect the chart early. These opposite aspect of The Sun and Pluto relates to abnormal warmth (warmer) and the Moon will Inensify the aspect and with Mercury approaching the Sun, it may be a little windy with the warmer temperatures.

CURRENT EVENTS

Current National Summary

A broad high pressure is keeping much of the country clear and calm whilst allowing another cold night to develop in the southeast. A cold front is bringing showers and gusty winds to parts of SA, VIC and TAS. A trough over the interior is producing cloud but little, if any rain.

Useful Rain Dampening SA Again

Mon 18:21 EST Some handy rain is spreading across the south of South Australia only a few days after the last damp spell.

On Monday Kangaroo Island and the South East were the biggest beneficiaries. Last night Flinders Chase picked up 19mm, on top of their 21mm only three days ago, which takes it to 95mm for the month.

Robe gained it's highest daily rainfall for the year so far with 27mm from 9am to 4:30pm. This recent rain has taken the South East town to within a couple millimetres of its monthly average of 95mm.

The band of showers is slowly edging north and is likely to bring similar totals to many locations about the coasts and ranges into Tuesday.

Adelaide still has a long way to go if it is to reach the monthly average of 80mm. Chances are that it will barely get half way there by month's end.

The front bringing these showers is reinforcing the cold air over the state and it's likely to hang around until the end of the week. During that time showers are a chance each day in most of the south, although they will gradually clear by Friday as winds ease.

Easing winds mean that morning fogs will develop.

Another burst of showery winds should arrive on Sunday but it may only be brief.

Winter - Get Used To It

Mon 18:00 EST Melburnians and Canberrans may be used to wearing black scarves, skivvies and coats at this time of year, but how long can they keep it up?

They, along with Adelaideans and Sydneyites and everyone in between, may need the extra layers every day for another week, at least.

Most of those who live in the south of the country are used to cold, mixed in with some relatively mild days. But this winter is a bit different.

The recent cold is not a brief burst but a long-lasting one which could go well into next week, potentially the longest cold spell in three years.

The last time Melbourne stayed colder than 14 degrees for more than a week was in 2007.

It's also been three years since Sydney stayed colder than 17 for more than a week and Canberra colder than 12 for more than a week.

For Adelaide it's been two years since there's been a seven day period in which it has failed to warm to 16 degrees.

One can conclude that for much of southeastern Australia this cold spell is looking like the longest in three years.

Frost will also be a feature. This morning Oakey in southern Queensland dipped to minus six degrees, their coldest in six years.

Don't expect noticeable warming too soon.

Surveys Show Fish Boom In Lake Eyre Region

Mon 13:55 EST Fish have made a comeback to the Lake Eyre Basin in outback South Australia due to recent rain and a flow of floodwaters from Queensland.

Water projects officer with the Arid Lands Natural Resources Management Board, Henry Mancini, says surveys show about 20 fish species have survived drought by laying dormant in permanent waterholes.

He says some species are native but others, such as mosquito fish, pose threats and will need to be controlled.

"There's a number of other larger fish that can be eaten but quite a few species are very small and they're indicators of the health of the system," he said.

"What we're finding is that they are in large numbers so that means the systems are in relatively good condition, which is positive and we've done a number of surveys over the last three years that are indicating that."

Brisbane Shivers On Coldest Morning this Year

Mon 07:48 EST It has been a chilly start to the day in Queensland's south-east, with Brisbane recording its coldest morning of the year with the mercury dipping to 8.1 degrees Celsius.

Weather bureau forecaster Ben Annells says the cold mornings will continue for the next few days.

"The temperatures have dropped a fair bit overnight with the surface trough moving through yesterday and introducing some dry air across the south-east," he said.

"Brisbane - 8.1 [degrees Celsius] - the minimum so far which is the coldest morning since the 20th of July last year."

Forecaster Ben Annells says the chilly starts will continue for the next few days.

"We'll see probably a weak trough move through on Wednesday which will perhaps just create a little bit more wind and therefore just raise those temperatures a little bit, but they're still going to be fairly cold," he said.

"Around the traps we've seen around 1 degree at Amberley [west of Brisbane] so far and sub-zero temperatures across the southern interior of the state.

"The forecast for the next few days is for similar conditions with basically cold nights and fairly mild days sitting around 20, 21 degrees."
